Language learning web-sites

The first web-site, I would like to introduce is BBC Languages. Ther are some of differnet languages for us to choose what you want to learn. It has audio and video courses for beginners and intermediates in 36 languages. Moreover, we can take phrases that web-site teaching us to download into the personal mp3 player.
The second one is English Baby. It provides many way to improve, such as language lessons, making friends with foreigners, and the imformation about movie which close to our daily life. This web-site also provide the vedio to help learning practice the listening and speaking. There is a considerate function which has explaination to the difficult or complex words.

The final language learning web-site I am goin to intoduce is Exam English.It is a tool for people to practice national examination such as TOEFL, TOEIC, and the Cambridge ESL exams. You can choose what you like or what you want to learn. And this websites cna help learner to link to related websites you need.

Reflection on Chung-Kai 's blog

The blog is helpful for me to catch some information I need, such as "web 2.0", the new-borned word for internet. It's kind of a technique for people to have interaction or communication on the internet which is teaching resource.
In additon to the introudction of "web 2.0", the author of blog have mentioned a lot of marterial of online wiritng. For example, wikispaces and Blog are also provide us free software to write on the internet or leave the comments.
It's useful to absorb something from his knowledge.

ABC Phonics Song

I choose this video, it's because children can easily learn from the song. And children remember it as a lyric and pictures, which can easily remember.
Beside right hemisphere keeps the emotion and art information. Although children can not remind the Alphabet, children could also recall the Alphabet from the right hemisphere.

Web 2.0 encapsulates the idea of the proliferation of interconnectivity and interactivity of web-delivered content. Tim O'Reilly regards Web 2.0 as the way that business embraces the strengths of the web and uses it as a platform. O'Reilly considers that Eric Schmidt's abridged slogan, don't fight the Internet, encompasses the essence of Web 2.0 — building applications and services around the unique features of the Internet, as opposed to expecting the Internet to suit as a platform (effectively "fighting the Internet").

In the opening talk of the first Web 2.0 conference, O'Reilly and John Battelle summarized what they saw as the themes of Web 2.0. They argued that the web had become a platform, with software above the level of a single device, leveraging the power of "The Long Tail," and with data as a driving force. According to O'Reilly and Battelle, an architecture of participation where users can contribute website content creates network effects. Web 2.0 technologies tend to foster innovation in the assembly of systems and sites composed by pulling together features from distributed, independent developers. (This could be seen as a kind of "open source" or possible "Agile" development process, consistent with an end to the traditional software adoption cycle, typified by the so-called "perpetual beta".)

Web 2.0 technology encourages lightweight business models enabled by syndication of content and of service and by ease of picking-up by early adopters.

My name is Joyce.
I live in Taipei but I also rent a dorm near by my school, where you can easily find me.
I am junior and right now in the group of "English teaching" which belong to English Department. I believed I like my choice to be in the teaching group although I might not be a teacher.
Why am I choosing the course of CALL? Becasue the CALL is increasing growing now and to the future. To avoid being a loser, I should learn more and do more in the last two years in the school. I am not olny like to know the theory, but also like to learn by doing.

Experience or ceremony for being adult

What event makes a person an adult? I think it definitely is having a steady job to earn money without asking money from parents anymore. The second thing may become an adult is having responsibility to make a important decision, and take all the duty. Third, as an adult, there is no more protection of youth from law. A real adult should take the full punishment when we have done something wrong.

The most important evident of being an adult is stop asking money from parents, and try to earn money by our own. Because independence is the most important part of being adult, we should start to do this as first step. Since we have ability for earning money, our livings are nothing for our parents to worry about.

Second step of being adult, I believe it is the power and right to make a serious decision, which we don’t need to have someone bother us. Because it’s the time to take responsibility for decision, this is another important experience for us to have.

Third, there is no more special protection for an adult criminal, so we should watch out our behavior. Because there is no more special punishment for an adult, it only protects young persons. When we are not young anymore, we should be a great citizen not to break law.

After we go through those experiences; earning money by our own, have responsibility for the decision we make, and we are no longer under the protection of law, we can loudly announce that we are an adult now. Being an adult is joyful, but we should wait until the heart matured.

The song Luka was talking about a child who face the violence from his family. This boy remainded silent which didn't tell anybody about his unfortune. He didn't want other to ask how is he.
Because he doesn't want other people to know it. He want to keep a little bit of pride.
I felt sad about the song but I think the lyrics is amazing and a classic song for this important issue during our daily life.
